Busy busy bees...

.

I can't believe this weekend will be the beginning of September!!! This summer has gone by so fast it's unbelievable! We have been quite busy of late, and this weekend is the first weekend since Ava was born that we had NO plans! And it's been awesome to do next to nothing as a family.

This month we have made a couple trips to western KY to see my mom and Bill and family and to Newburgh, IN to see my Dad and Vanessa and family. We had a great time and I know everyone enjoyed seeing Ava!

Yummy hands! First time in a high chair, hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's

Ava is becoming more of a busy body every day! She is noticing EVERYTHING and loves sitting up and looking around. In fact if you try to lay her back and and cradle her 'like a baby' she will protest. Loudly. My beautiful, sweet, independent girl already! Wonder where she gets it;).

Ava loves to lay down and look up at you. She is starting to play with her Sophie giraffe (thank you YaYa) and her OBall ( thank you Daddy)! But her favorite play thing is her hands. The game is - how many fingers can I fit in my mouth? And she is just talking up a storm these days! There certainly is no question that she is a girl with her adorable girlie squeals. I'm sure one day I won't find them so cute, but for now they just put a smile on my face!!

Licking Sophie the giraffe...kinda creepy kiddo...

Loves playing with the OBall - lots of places for those little fingers to hold on to!

Thanks for reading our brief update on what's been going on! More to come soon, but here's some more pictures of our sweet girl! Have a blessed day:)

Every morning we wake up wondering what kind of position she has gotten herself in to in the bed!  She a wiggle worm and a little Houdini!

Seriously, is there anything more adorable and cuddley than a baby in footy pajama's??

3 months old?!?!

Bigger than Yoda she is...

I can't believe Ava has been with us 3 months! It has been the 3 fastest months of my life, yet it feels like she has been with us forever. My mother-in-law,Gwen, told me that time never moves as fast as when you are comparing it to your child. And it is so true!

This is an off month for going to the pediatrician, but we can tell Ava is growing! She is especially getting so long, and definitely is outgrowing the length of her clothes before the width. She's going to be long and lean lie her daddy! She is still in 0-3 month clothes but is starting to outgrow things, so I'm sure the transition to the next size will come very soon!

Ava still is on mommy's milk only (yay me!). She eats 5-6 times a day. If I may just toot my own horn for a moment- I am so proud of myself for not giving up on breast feeding and for being able to provide Ava with the best nutrition that she could get! Breast feeding is very hard, and there are so many obstacles that can come up where you may not being able to do it. I feel very fortunate that we have been able to do it for so long, and hope to continue as long as we can!

And now off the soapbox! My sister Jenny came to visit us this past weekend while James was out of town. The three of us had a great girls weekend-the first of many more to come I'm sure! We did some shopping, ate some some bad-for-you food, watched a movie and just had an all around good time. Ava loves her aunt Jenny and I know they will be great friends!

Thats all for now! Thanks for reading and have a very blessed day:).

Loves being wrapped up and cuddled after bath time with daddy!

Such kissable cheeks!

A tale of tutu's and bumbo's...

Mommy and Ava

So I have officially started crafting again! Yay! Anyone who know me knows that I love to try my hand at all things crafty. I have done quilts, wreaths, monogram letters, bow holders, and cards. When I was so sick during my pregnancy heyday I kind of put everything up. Just didn't feel like being creative. But I am back! Pinterest is a VERY dangerous thing for me! Too many neat crafty things easily accessible. So I happened upon easy tutu's and have gone to town! You will be seeing many pictures of Ava in said tutu's in the future! And if you want me to make one for your little girl, message me;).

In other news, Ava is just growing and changing every day it seems! She is liking sitting in her bumbo (for about 10 minutes at a time) and loves her play mat! We have one that has a piano that she can kick and a mobile of different animals and a mirror. She loves looking at herself in the mirror and cooing and smiling. Already has a lot of self esteem;).

We also have gone to the pool several times now with Ava and she loves that too! She's going to be a swimmer just like her daddy! We have a floaty that we put her in and she usually tolerates it for about 30 minutes at a time. Not too bad for a 3 month old!

Chillaxin' at the pool!

She loves the water like her Daddy!
That's about it for us! Ava turns 3 months old on Sunday (!!!!!) so check back in next week for another update!
She is finding her tongue!
Her smile just brightens my day!
